Why fluoride-free?

According to the Lancet, fluoride is a classified neurotoxin. Arsenic, lead and mercury are also neurotoxins. Neurotoxins disrupt optimal brain function and lead to a variety of health issues including but not limited to neurodevelopmental disabilities, including attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, and other cognitive impairments, according to the journal.

Toothpaste that contains fluoride in their ingredients have this warning:

Here is a label from a fluoride bag:

Why superfoods?

Superfoods are plant-based foods that contain an abundant amount of essential and unparalleled nutrients than a counterpart food or a stand alone plant such as turmeric or maca. For example, quinoa is more nutritionally dense over rice or cacao vs cocoa.

Because whatever we put in our mouth is absorbed into our bloodstream, it’s important to take care of our teeth and brush with only the best ingredients and superfoods are a part of that!

Is Aspen a cruelty-free company?

Yes! We use fair-trade, organic ingredients (meaning that the ingredients are not sprayed with chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. We never test on animals and our products are made with loving care and kindness for the health of humans and the earth.

Does Superfood Toothpaste actually work?

In a nutshell, yes! Superfood Toothpaste was developed to promote excellent oral health as well as our overall health. By using Superfood Toothpaste, we are nourishing our teeth, gums and establishing optimal oral hygiene from within. Superfood Toothpaste works because it is made with organic and plant-based ingredients that don’t cause our mouth, teeth or the rest of our body harm.

How do I prevent cavities?

Preventing cavities occurs primarily through proper nutrition and giving our body the essential nutrients it needs. It is interesting to note that mama’s form their future children’s (as well as future generations) teeth by what they consume. This is why proper nutrition is crucial! You can prevent cavities by eating an alkaline nutritional lifestyle, incorporating superfoods into your daily life, not consuming processed products or drinking soda and commercial juices and implementing other non-toxic oral hygiene practices. Our teeth are living organs and we must “feed” them with nutrients, not just with actual food but with what we brush with.

The texture is different than I’m used to.

Superfood Toothpaste was formulated to empower and bring health to the oral healthcare marketplace. Because Superfood Toothpaste doesn’t use carcinogenic and toxic ingredients (like Triclosan, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sorbitol, Microbeads, Glycerine, sugar alcohols such as Xylitol that are usually produced from GMO corn), Propylene Glycol), the taste and texture will be different. This is a good thing!

What are sugar alcohols and why aren’t they in Aspen Superfood Toothpaste?

Sugar alcohols like Xylitol are products made by hydrogenation of natural materials and are often derived from GMO corn. They are the “margarines” of the 21st century. They are non-metabolized and disruptive to the oral and gut microbiome. Xylitol can also cause gastric distress, bloating and diarrhea (Note: Xylitol is deadly to dogs.)

If Xylitol is not made from GMO corn, it can be processed from birch trees which is not sustainable or environmentally friendly. The process includes stripping the bark which kills the birch tree. It then takes 15 years to grow it back to harvest size. (Insert sad face.)

Superfood Toothpaste does not contain sugar alcohols.
